About Harvesters Evangelistic Ministry Youth (HEMY)

Sixteen(16) years ago, the youth in the Harvesters Evangelistic ministry came together to form Harvesters Evangelistic Ministry youth Association. Over the years the association has grown 'bigger and bigger' both in quality and quantity through christ. The spiritual and administrative challenges we faced over the years have strengthened us in this cosmopolitan and evil world. We seek to impart the drive, skill, experience and knowledge that we have acquired through christ to others.

Youth Pastor

The youth pastor is chosen by the head pastor in consultance with the church administration to pastor the youth association. The youth pastor should be a resident pastor in the church.

Patrons

The youth pastor in consultance with the executive body of the youth association, choose patrons. A patron should be a member of the church and former active member of the youth association.

President

The president is elected by the members of the association by voting. The president must be an active member of the church for at least four (4) years and also active member of the youth association. The president must be above (20) twenty years.

Vice President

The vice president is elected by the members of the association by voting. The vice president must be an active member of the church for at least four (4) years and also active member of the youth association. The president must be above (20) twenty years.

The Secretary

The secretary is elected by the members of the association by voting. The secretary must be an active member of the church for at least four (4) years and also active member of the youth association. The secretary must be above (20) twenty years.


The Organiser

The organiser is elected by the members of the association by voting. Theorganiser must be an active member of the church for at least four (4) years and also active member of the youth association. The organiser must be above (20) twenty years.

The Treasurer

The Treasurer is elected by the members of the association by voting. The treasurer must be an active member of the church for at least four (4) years and also active member of the youth association. The treasurer must be above (20) twenty years.

The Publicity Officer

The Publicity Officer is elected by the members of the association by voting. The publicity officer must be an active member of the church for at least four (4) years and also active member of the youth association. The publicity officer must be above (20) twenty years.

The Prayer Secretary

The Prayer secretary is elected by the members of the association by voting. The prayer secretary must be an active member of the church for at least four (4) years and also active member of the youth association. The prayer secretary must be above (20) twenty years.

OTHER POSITIONS

The Executive body of the youth association shall select and recommend members to occupy these positions: Chaplain, Assistant secretay, Assistant orginiser, Financial secretary and Assistant publicity officer. They shall submit their names to the youth pastor and the patrons for approval.

We are the backbone of the church and we seek to empower the youth through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We help the youth to unveil their hidden talents and the gifts from the holy spirit to develop both personally and spiritually.

We seek to help the youth share their gifts, grow in life skills, develop a positive self-image, overcome prejudices, develop respect for differences, serve those in need, and foster social change, participate in the sacraments, develop a personal spirituality and prayer life, apply faith to daily life, integrate Christian values, participate in the Church, and develop a personal relationship with Jesus.

HEM Youth Ministry is a series of programs and activities to give young people a chance to participate in Church life, develop personal relationship with God and discover new friendships.
